Session 04

Page history last edited by myfeatherbones@gmail.com 3 years, 8 months ago

Fashion week for Hesse house hosting, it’s an exclusive event where the hot new designer is showing their shit. Fendar Yaro is a high fashion designer. Unique creation for unusual Chaos forms. Li notices that Yael was supposed to be here at this event but is not there during the show, so tries to Trump them during the reception after the show itself but gets no answer.

Lady Dara of Helgram has brought an unusual +1. It’s basically Bleys, followed by several members of the Black Watch. Robin notices that the weapon is getting pings from Bleys and waits for Bleys to come talk with him.

Lilja talks to Mandor about their son, specifically his preference for suitors. Lilja’s looking to see if they can get Dante hooked up with Marco. Mandor at least says he’ll consider it.

Rook notices that the caterers are acting suss. After spying a little, they think they’re using hand signals to coordinate some sort of activity… Since Harlequin isn’t around, Rook goes to Tek for help. After a bit where Tek forces them to pretend that they’re having a good time, Rook explains that something’s up with the staff.

Rook asks Tek to investigate, and Tek shares that there’s some tier of people at the party that Rook should likewise keep an eye on (Lilja's kids).

Marco approaches Dante and mentions that his father said Dante wanted to court him, which is totally weird. After an awkward conversation where Dante realizes Marco has thought he likes Valefor, Dante goes to scream into a pillow for a while before pretending that everything is fine.

Robin notices that Bleys is being tracked by the caterers. He goes over to shmooze with him and Bleys confirms that he is Brand’s brother. Robin also confirms that Bleys knows he’s being followed.

Lilja finally gets through to Yael. They’re in a hospital of some sort. Lilja trumps there to see what’s going on, very disappointed, and sees that Pheonix is there as well. Apparently they were doing some experiment out in Shadow and Yael got pretty hurt. Lilja is even more disappointed and gives them both the Mom Talk.

Lilja calls Dante to get back to the party and Dante is so excited to have something to distract him. Once together, Dante shares his angst about Marco with Lilja, who admits the situation was her doing.

Dante goes over to the bar and steals half of Robin’s drink. Robin finds this hilarious and entertains all of the feelings spilling that Dante wants to do. Tek snags Robin on his way to get tiny sandwiches and asks about Dante - and in the meantime, Robin points out Bleys and the caterers. They notice that said caterers are converging on Bleys and Robin heads over while Tek stays back to watch things go down.

Rook gets to the nonsense first, as Bleys draws a Pattern sword. Robin lets himself get stabbed so that he can make some blood knives. Rook uses their chaos form and Logrus powers in combat. Robin starts to slow down, which is weird. Tek gets stabbed with a syringe by one of the guests - and immediately lunges at them in retaliation.

As the fight starts to level out, Robin goes to find Tek, who is being dragged away by two guests. Robin takes them out with a couple of blood knives before the medics and Black Watch swarm the venue. Tek and Robin fall unconscious, poisoned. Rook also starts to feel the effects of the poison, while the rest of the family steps in to start helping.

In the aftermath, Lilja discovers that Tek and Robin were poisoned with different substances. Robin was hit with the same stuff that’s been used to poison the family, while Tek was drugged.

Dante notices that a crowd is gathering around Bleys now that the fight is over, angry and demanding to know who he is--he approaches Bleys and says that he’s Rook’s little brother, and once Bleys agrees to come with him, Dante trumps them out to his personal Ways. Still drunk, Dante gives Bleys a tour of the Trump work he’s been doing.

While giving Bleys an extended tour of the Hesseways, Dante gets a Trump call from Marco. Marco inquires after his safety and asks about Bleys. Dante invites Marco back for tea.

The physicians finally treat Rook for the poison as well. Lilja snags Marco before he leaves to go have tea with Dante. Lilja spells out for Marco that Dante really likes him.

Tek and Robin start waking up. Lilja examines the dead bodies around and finds that many of them are wearing symbols of the Serpent. Robin starts hearing someone (the grey-faced man with a bone mask) talk to him. With Rook there to help him pretend he’s talking to someone present in the real world, he has a conversation with them to ask who they are and what they want, and they say they’re from the Dark Lands. They say that their name is Iron Scarab. Robin asks what they did with his brother, and he says that they’re holding him for questioning. The Iron Scarab asks if he died in a strange way, and Robin admits that he did.

Lilja tries to have a bath after all of this to cool down… Before they can, she gets a Trump call from Snorri. He asks some questions about the event, and Lilja lets him know that Bleys was at the party with Lady Dara. She demands to meet up with Father Paulus Halwood to talk about the nonsense that happened at the party.

Meanwhile, Dante talks with Bleys. He asks if they know Fiona, and Bleys says that they’re siblings. Eventually Bleys leaves as his escorts come to take him away. And then it’s just Dante and Marco… Marco updates Dante on the situation, and Dante drunkenly apologies for running away. Marco pats Dante on the shoulder awkwardly before excusing himself. The romance!

Rook, Tek, and Robin all go to Rook’s house to have a moment of privacy. Rook gets a call from their friend while they’re there. He asks about the situation and if they’re okay, and Rook says that they're okay enough. Bleys apparently contacted Fiona about the situation, and he overheard. When Rook comes back, they say that they were on the Trump call with a friend. Tek heckles them for a little bit, eventually they start talking about their contacts in Amber.

Robin eventually shares that he’s got someone from the Dark Lands trying to contact him. He spills that they’re holding Crow for “questioning”. Rook produces a contact for Tek to try to talk to that may be able to figure out how to cut the connection between Robin and the Dark Lands (Amenko of House Anwp).

Related, Robin agrees to try and get a Trump Card of Amenko for Tek. Robin also gives Tek his trump card of Airdan, while they’re sharing. Tek lets the other two Bad Stuff kids know that the Inquisition is definitely responsible for the attempted assassinations, and Greer’s line has all been marked as cursed.

Robin finally takes a nap on a couch. Tek gives Lilja a call in the middle of the night to talk about heresy stuff and let her know that Father Halwood is responsible for the hits against Greer’s family. Lilja says that she’s going to talk to him to try and reach an agreement - Tek tries to persuade Lilja to not talk to them and expose what they know to the entire Inquisition. Lilja says that she may have a possible third option, but she’ll need Quin with them to go take that approach, as was promised to them.

The next day, Dante gets a call. A flustered servant lets him know that a group from the Border Watch is here to, supposedly, watch over them. Dante calls Valefor to figure out what’s up, and he says that it’s because of the assassination attempt. Valefor also has to ask about whether or not he and Dante are dating…? Dante gives Valefor the whole embarrassing story to just kind of explain what happened.

Lilja gets a call from Snorri to confirm that she has a meeting set up with Father Halwood, along with some guards to protect her. After explaining her concerns, Snorri offers to go with her to the meeting. Once there, Father Halwood is surprised to see Snorri with her and denies any involvement with the murder attempts. After a little more needling, he at least lets on that they have reason to believe their family is a little tainted. During discussions, he tells Lilja that there are malefic creatures working with the King, and that if they can push to get these entities out of their Ways, she can endear herself to the Inquisition. He also shows her a picture of one of them… Which is in the same style as the pictures found on the assassin’s bodies.

Lilja calls Tek and explains the whole situation. Tek tells Lilja to call Rook, and they talk about the situation. They all decide that the Inquisition is pretty much crap. Rook invites Li to come over to Rook’s Ways to talk to Tek about why someone would have tried to kidnap him during the fashion incident earlier. Through a series of snipes, they decide to invite Dante over too.

The family… exchanges information with each other. Rook dumped the information about the Amberites with everyone. Tek confirmed the fact that the Inquisition is definitely after them, he has no idea where they got the information or how much of the Inquisition knows, and no one in the line is safe. All he would say about anything else is that he has no idea why they had tried to steal him at the party. He asserts that they've tried to kill everyone else and only drugged him (implying that the difference might be because he isn't confirmed to be related) and agrees that anyone could have been attacking him because he has a lot of information and a lot of enemies. Refuses to share anything else.

The breakfast basically goes terribly because everyone in this family is a petty bitch.
